Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 April 2026

These terms govern your use of beetime.eu. By using the site, you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

1. What this site is

BeeTIME is an independent beekeeping publication. Articles, directories, and the weekly digest cover varroa management, seasonal work, equipment, plants, and the small-scale economics of honey, written from a central European apiary for an English-speaking audience.

The content is informational. It is not professional, legal, medical, veterinary, or financial advice. Your beekeeping decisions are your own.

2. Not professional advice, and one specific disclaimer

BeeTIME articles discuss treatments, chemicals, timing, and practices that carry real consequences for your colonies and sometimes for you personally. Varroa treatments in particular involve regulated substances with jurisdiction-specific rules and dosages that change over time.

Before applying anything to a hive:

  • verify current label instructions in your country
  • check whether the treatment is approved in your jurisdiction
  • consult your national bee inspector, veterinarian, or local beekeeping association if anything is unclear
  • if you are certified organic, confirm the treatment is permitted under your certifier’s current rules

BeeTIME accepts no liability for colony losses, treatment failures, allergic reactions, regulatory issues, or any other consequence arising from applying information read on this site. That responsibility is yours.

3. How to use the site

You agree to use beetime.eu lawfully and in good faith. Specifically, you will not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, data, or administrative areas
  • upload malicious code, scripts, or files
  • scrape content at volumes that interfere with normal site operation
  • use the site for anything illegal

4. Content ownership and how you may use it

All original content on beetime.eu (articles, directory entries, editorial notes, photographs, and the overall compilation) is protected by copyright. The author is the sole rights holder unless explicitly credited otherwise.

What you may do without asking:

  • read, print, and save articles for personal use
  • share links to articles on social media, forums, and other websites
  • pin article images to Pinterest with attribution back to the original article
  • quote short passages (up to roughly 100 words) for commentary, review, or discussion, with a visible link back to the source

What requires written permission:

  • republishing full articles or substantial portions on another website, newsletter, or print publication
  • using BeeTIME content for commercial training, course materials, or paid publications
  • using photographs outside fair-use quotation
  • creating derivative works from directory data

For permission requests, write to [email protected]. Reasonable requests are usually accommodated.

5. Links to other sites

BeeTIME articles and directories link to external websites. These links are provided for reference and do not imply endorsement. BeeTIME has no control over what those sites publish and accepts no responsibility for their content, accuracy, or policies.

6. Affiliate relationships and advertising

BeeTIME plans to participate in affiliate programs (for example, Amazon Associates, equipment supplier programs, and course platforms) and may display advertising from third-party networks in the future.

Where an article contains affiliate links, this will be disclosed clearly in that article. Clicking such a link may earn BeeTIME a small commission if you purchase, at no extra cost to you. This does not influence editorial recommendations.

If advertising is added in the future, ads will be labelled as advertising and kept separate from editorial content.

7. Newsletter

Subscribing to the Wednesday digest is free and voluntary. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click. Your email address is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability

The site is provided as it is. No guarantee is made that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors. Maintenance, technical issues, or hosting problems may cause downtime.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, BeeTIME accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, reliance on its content, inability to access it, or any action taken based on something read here.

This is not a clause designed to overreach. It is a clause that reflects the reality: BeeTIME is a one-person publication, not a consultancy, and readers are adults making their own decisions.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated when the site changes (new services, new monetisation, new legal requirements). The current version is always the one on this page, with the “Last updated” date at the top.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia and applicable EU law. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of Slovenian courts unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
